Everything you need to know about the rapid growth of Bleacher Report

I conducted a small research (100 participants) on most popular sports news and content application and to my surprise, Bleacher Report B/R featured in 25 answers. When I further investigated on how B/R featured on the list, I was rather amused to know that B/R has become popular since it tied up with Snapchat to broadcast sports news. This is a big achievement in a way because sports applications like Star sports, cricbuzz, yahoo sports, sportskeeda are the most commonly visited applications in India and most of the applications are focused heavily on cricket content.

What is Bleacher Report exactly?

Bleacher Report popularly referred as B/R is an American digital media company based in San Francisco and covering hundreds of teams and sports around the world. Bleacher Report specializes in creating and curating content about trending news topics, with an emphasis on delivering opinion-oriented analysis and multimedia programming via varied content formats and mobile technologies.

Who owns B/R and who is responsible for the growth of B/R

B/R is owned by Turner Sports and apparently, it was acquired by Turner Sports for $200 million in 2012. Currently, B/R is headed by Joe Yanarella. Joe joined B/R in 2009 and has transformed the company into the hottest properties in digital sports coverage and has added serious numbers (37 million visits per month, 10 million users garnered in 3 years) these are staggering numbers, they are so overwhelming that ESPN and Sports Illustrated are watching on B/R however, B/R is moving at a blistering pace and has its head firm on building an even bigger user base, how big you ask me? The infographic below will give you an idea what Joe and his B/R team want to achieve.

P.S: Thank you to the 100 participants who took time out to fill the questionnaires and a special thanks to those 25 who prompted me to dig deep and share information about B/R.
